I was lost and alone
With nowhere to turn
In need of direction
And yearning to learn
Then I saw a place
I think Iâll never forget
A home of such beauty
In each stone that was set

On a sprawling lawn
Surrounded by those
She taught to do good

And then she turned to me and smiled
I felt the kindness in her eyes
She gave me more than I deserved
And said I could make it if I tried

She showed me the world
And the wonders within
She gave me sweet gifts
And made me her friend
And all I can say
Is Iâm alive today
Because of everything she had
