Ebon Gate Opens 9pm on 10/4/2024 - Webstaff on 10/03/2024

Once again, the veil between realms thins and the aurora-filled skies of Naidem draw near, inviting adventurers to wander her orchards, woods, streets, and river.  Some select few will visit Naidem specifically for the S. P. E. C. T. R. E. and S. H. A. D. O. W. Conference taking place in the Evermore Hollow Hotel, others will visit to explore what new memories the denizens of Naidem have conjured into existence.  And even more will come with hopes of seeing a familiar face among the Unliving.

This year at the Ebon Gate Festival, there will be multiple quests, storylines, a brand-new game “Undergrowth of Bittmere Woods” or colloquially “the Witch’s Garden.”

Storyline – Ivensra’s Fate

Look for Casivit, Brixit, and Pennysel during the opening week of Ebon Gate to learn more about this year’s storyline on the Ebon Gate Grounds.  Progression in the storyline will be a combination of live roleplaying events and quest-based automations.  The storyline begins the first week, takes a break for merchant week and services, then continues in the final week.  You can keep up with the storyline by visiting the regularly updated wiki page.

Return of the Treasure Trove

Four Treasure Troves will be open again this year in Gavelsdown Hall at the heart of Evermore Hollow.  These troves will have a variety of custom service certificates for profession customizations, personal customizations, sought after item customizations, and unique items.

Some examples of what you will see in the Treasure Trove are:

  • Containers filled with unlocked, fully customized, and unique items (multiple)
  • High Quality Armor or Weapons
  • High Quality Enhancives
  • Dead Pet & Coffin
  • And many more…

Also, new this year…

Customizations will also return in the trove, offering up certificates for the Customization of AC Grooming, Sonics, Nexus Orb, Wizard Familiar, Nightmare, Transfer, Spirit Servant, Swear, LogPhrase, Signature Verb, Bolt, Werepuppy, Leech, Perfume, Coffee, Tea, Tobacco, Candy tin, Loresong, Fatal Afflares, Illusion Pin, Ezscripts, Major Sanctuaries, and Death Message.

Additionally, the shop “The Roof Over” will see a return of the Private Property Trove, a trove that is accessible to individuals that own private properties only.  We’ve expanded the offerings and added in the option for Nereid’s Cradle properties to have some options.

The options for everyone include: Move a Property (New), Bird/Bug/Critter Add, Artwork Install, Mood Messaging Additions, Food Additions, and Mailboxes.

The options restricted from Nereid’s Cradle are: Workshop addition, Shrine addition, Room addition

The Trove begins collecting tokens on the 11th and runs through the 30th.

Antiquarian Manor

Sylinaar continues to hide out in the gardens of the Antiquarian Manor, offering enhancive-related services during the month of October.  Sylinaar provides estimates before completing the work, so be sure to ask him about MAX, PERMANENCY, RECHARGE or COST.

The half-elven traveler will be appearing at Ebon Gate to give away her Gilded Locus invention!  Her prices will be reset since she appeared at Duskruin, and she has learned the ability to SWAP properties for 5k soul shards!  If you have a locus, simply ask her about ADD, BOOST, or SWAP. I f you do not have a locus, simply ask her for NEW LOCUS, and she'll give you one for free!

Quinton Manse

New Offerings have been added to Quinton Manse!  Unlock Certificates for Yansio clothing are available on the shelves.  Beatie Babies and their unlock certificates have also been added.

SuperSpec unlocks have been moved to Fresh from the Coven, a new shop that is located the neighborhood of Fate’s Holding.

^The Ferryman’s Lantern (lore to be released soon) is a wrought iron lantern that is decided to be placed at the feet and will move on spindled legs with its owner.  It will provide ambient messaging that changes based on the Season, 4-specfic Holidays (Cholen’s Eve, Zelia’s Warning, Festival of Oleani, and Eve of Reunion), which glass panes are installed in the lantern, and if it is in Naidem.

The lantern has two special features, the ability to briefly steal light from the surrounding area or the ability to dispel local shadows.  These features can only be done in Naidem.

Each lantern has four windows, that can be fitted with panes found in the various games.

Additionally, the Lantern will tell the Tale of the Ferryman when appropriately manipulated.  This tale is portrayed through illusions, shadows, and a disembodied voice.

^^A glass pane folio is designed to hold your spare windowpanes when they are not installed in the lantern.  It can hold a total of 75 glass panes weightlessly.  Glass panes can be altered.

The lantern can be broken to obtain an RPA Orb.

These Lanterns attune.

Hotel Stay Contest Begins! - Webstaff on 09/30/2024


Starting at 1am on October 1, 2024, treasure chests across Elanthia will have a chance to produce a gold-inked ebon vellum envelope.

Upon opening the envelope, you will have a chance to find one of ten luggage tags.

Here are some important things to remember:

  • Do not open the envelope if you do not want to win the hotel stay. Instead, wait until we announce that all ten have been found and then open your envelope for a small token.
  • Hotel Tags attune upon being found. If you win it, then you are expected to attend a weekend at the Evermore Hollow Hotel.
  • Any box that is created has a chance to have an envelope in it. Yes, this includes OSA.
  • The envelope will ONLY generate within a box.
  • You can “vaporize” your boxes without any fear of vaporizing an envelope, but please be aware that your envelope will end up on the ground and open for anyone to pick up. Do this with caution.

Also starting at 1am, you may use CLAIM once per account to obtain a gold-inked ebon vellum envelope. This is your free chance to find a tag.

Free-to-Play accounts do not qualify for CLAIM or the Contest.

SimuCoin Hotel Stays

We are excited to announce that Simutronics is taking a significant step forward in enhancing the security and scalability of our payment processes.

To better serve you, we are partnering with Stripe as our new payment processor, replacing our legacy billing system.

Ebon Gate - Evermore Hollow's Hotel - Webstaff on 09/20/2024

Evermore Hollow’s Hotel

This year, Evermore Hollow’s premiere hotel is hosting a conference of the SPECTRE and SHADOW organization. Guests are coming from far and wide to gather within the hotel’s newest rooms.

Select guests will get to stay in the hotel in one of their recently renovated hotel suites and take part in the conference, allowing them the opportunity to visit the attic, library, ballroom, kitchen, dining room, sitting room, and ride in the lifts.

Starting this weekend, ten invitations will go out via the feeder system. These invitations will grant you access to the conference and much more.

Starting on October 1st, 20 invitations will go on sale. We will release a few each day and at a variety of days and times.

We've decided to make the following changes to the Hotel Key lottery:
  • CLAIM will have 1 envelope in it starting on October 1st. It will be available until October 3rd. You may CLAIM once per account.

HESS is now Open! - Webstaff on 08/23/2024

The HESS shop is now open at Duskruin!  Here are some things to remember when making your redemption:

  • Redeem your purchase at HESS by holding the redemption item in your RIGHT HAND and the item you want it used on in your LEFT. 
  • ANALYZE your redemption item to see if it has futhur instructions as some items request that you WHISPER details to them.
  • Keep the item you are hoping to have modified on you and be logged into the game as much as possible so that our busy GMs can find you and handle your service.
  • Register the item you want work done on so that we have an accurate and current record of it.

Here are some things to remember while waiting for your service:

  1. Be patient.  You may find that others get their redemptions handled faster than you do, but this is to be expected as everyone's items are unique and different.
  2. Be aware that some items require review and approvals before the redemption can be completed.  Please view our 1st tip in this lsit again.
  3. Do not modify your weapon with a Sadie Scroll while waiting for a redemption.  This can cause issues both for you, the scroll, and the redeemer.

Please remember the refund policy:

  • Our refund fee will be 10% flat from now on.
  • HESS purchases can only be refunded within 24 hours of the service being applied. 

Here is a list of other refunds.

  • No refunds beyond 24 hours after general purchases. 
  • No fee on purchases made within 24-hours that are a mistake. 
  • No refunds on items purchased during previous runs. 
  • No refunds on Mania items. This includes refunds on other items because of your Mania win. 
  • No refunds on WPS services. 
  • If you make a mistake on type, please ASSIST.   As long as you ASSIST with the refund request before the 24-hour mark, it is considered within that window.

Gilded Locus - Webstaff on 08/20/2024

The gilded locus is a unique relic that is capable of granting vast enhancive power. It is an arcane invention of a multidisciplinary scholarly collective that incorporates techniques of lapidary work and glasswork with complex magical infusion. As an intricate, artistic construct that serves as an expansive repository for enhancive properties, any two loci are unlikely to be identical in either enhancive inscription or in form.

Players can receive a gilded locus with +1 max resource of the player's choice and 200/200 enhancive charges for free. The max resource will increase automatically as the player upgrades the locus. A player can have more than one locus, but only one locus can be used at a time, and loci are account attuned.

The locus can receive up to 20 enhancive properties.

  • The locus has a unique inventory slot
  • The locus can be upgraded at each run of Duskruin, Ebon Gate, and Rumor Woods
  • Platinum and Shattered will receive a 75% discount

Pricing

The following prices reset each event:

  • Add 1st property: 5k
  • Add 2nd property: 25k
  • 1st property boost: 5k
  • 2nd property boost: 10k
  • 3rd property boost: 15k
  • 4th property boost: 25k
  • 5th property boost: 35k

(the first two additions a locus receives will start at +5, subsequent additions will start at +1)

All property boosts include the following:

  • The boost itself: the chosen property will be increased by +1
  • The locus will receive one month of enhancive charging. During this time, it cannot lose charges. This bonus is stackable.
  • The +max resource on the locus will be increased as a free bonus! For the first 50 boosts, the resource will increase at a 1:1 rate. For the next 50 boosts, it increase at a 1:2 rate. Then a 1:3 rate, and so on.

Necrotic Lore Flares - Webstaff on 08/20/2024

Rotflares can now be converted to Necromancy Lore Flares by holding the armament in your right hand and executing FLOURISH CONVERT.

Do I need to convert my subscript to a flourish?
No. You can leave it as is. However...

Why should I convert my subscript to a flourish?

  • In some cases, like rage armor, converting the subscript to a flourish will provide a power boost.
  • Combat flourishes cannot be added to an item with legacy subscripts (other subscripts that have been converted to Combat Flourishes), so converting your subscript to a combat flourish allows you to add more combat flourishes. Keep in mind that by default only one combat flourish will be active at a time. The active combat flourish can be selected via FLOURISH UP/DOWN while out of combat.

FLOURISH CONVERT, and General Flourish Certificate Requirements:

  • You cannot have the same script on the item as a script or subscript AND a flourish at the same time, or both the legacy version and the flourish version at the same time (Example: You cannot have both Lesser Moods and Least Moods on the same item, but you can FLOURISH CONVERT Lesser Moods to Least Moods).
  • Certain scripts like some historical morphing weapons will prevent the addition of Flourishes. If you run into these, please let me know and I would be happy to take a peek to see if this can be resolved!
  • When adding flourishes, certain flourish scripts may have individual requirements. For example, lore flares must be applied to a weapon, runestaff, UCS gloves or boots.
  • You can ANALYZE the certificate while holding your item while the certificate is for sale, and will see a message if your item is or is not compatible with the certificate.

What's Next?
If this rollout goes well, FLOURISH CONVERT will be updated to support Flare Affinity, Rage Armor, and Notrot Flares.

A couple of  existing services are receiving a slight expansion:

  • The X/day combiner service will now also work on X/day tattoos.
  • The convert enhancive armor accessory to jewelry service will now also permit conversion of enhancive armaments.

New HESS services:

  • Convert SM (Self-Mana) item to SK (Spell Knowledge) item
  • Add greater rhimar script

Duskruin Arena is Open! - Webstaff on 08/16/2024

Duskruin Starts August 16, 2024 and runs to midnight on September 8, 2024!

What is Duskruin?

Duskruin is an in-game event that takes place in Bloodriven Village, which is located east of the Landing off the Locksmehr River.  The dingy town is full of thieves and scoundrels, merchants and salesman that all gather for the Duskruin Arena.

What is the Duskruin Arena?

Duskruin Arena is located on the eastern side of Bloodriven Village and offers gladiator-like games for individuals or teams to take part in.  A standard match pits an individual or team against 25 combatants.  For extra fun, there is also an Endless Arena option, where you can test your mettle to see if you are the best of your profession by going the most possible rounds.

What if I'm not the kind of person that likes to do battles?

Have no fear!  Not everyone likes the Arena and not everyone wants to spend their time locked in battle.  You are welcome to visit the Bloodriven Sewers, known as the Ratacombs, and search around in the muck.  In the sewers, you'll have up to an hour to do 10 searches where you can find unique items, Bloodriven Currency (called Bloodscrip), or if you are really lucky, a pet sewer rat.

What do I spend all this Bloodscrip on?

Everything and anything within the shops of Bloodriven Village.  You can see a full list of offerings on our player wiki where our GMs have conveniently cataloged all of the shops for you!

Someone told me there were titles, how do I earn those?

Both the Bloodriven Sewers and the Duskruin Arena offer fun titles that you can earn from doing runs.  You can find the full list by visiting our player wiki.

What if I don't like any of these options but I still want to earn currency?

Have no fear!  There is an old gladiator that is trying to get back into the Arena and he needs your help!  If you hand him a 25-count booklet, then he will trade you bloodscrip and even give you some experience.  You can find him near the entrance to the Arena.

What's new this run of Duskruin?

We keep a running list of announcements, new items, and releases in two locations during Duskruin Arena.  We have our Saved Posts on the player wiki and we also have a Read Only Forum post on Discord that we keep pretty up to date.

Paladin Services Are Now Live! - Webstaff on 08/15/2024

The Paladin profession service via the spell Battle Standard (1620) has been released. After gaining the ability to cast Battle Standard, a paladin will begin to acquire devotion as they gain experience. A skilled paladin can use this devotion to permanently empower a battle standard for use in combat. Battle standards occupy their own unique inventory slot and provide both offensive and defensive benefits. F2P paladins cannot create battle standards.

Raffle System Revamp! - Webstaff on 08/15/2024

We've released a revamped system for raffles!

You can now see which raffles you have entered with the new RAFFLE verb, and RAFFLE LIST will now list all known raffles. RAFFLE HELP outlines some other options, like viewing the details of a specific raffle from afar and asking a local street urchin to direct you to a specific raffle.

New with this release is the possibility of winning certain raffles while offline or while logged in as another character on your account. Both of these options will limit you to one entry per account (rather than one entry per character), since otherwise people with multiple characters per account have an advantage over people with one character per account. Raffles may now also have various restrictions (such as profession or citizenship requirements) which you must qualify for before being allowed to purchase a ticket.

When encountering a raffle table, you are encouraged to LOOK TICKET ON TABLE and carefully pay attention to any restrictions listed.
